U.S. Embassy in Norway – Emergency Services Only

Oslo Municipality has implemented stricter measures due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases (press release[6]).  As a result of the increase in cases and stricter measures, the U.S. Embassy in Norway is further reducing operations and services.

We have cancelled appointments through April 9th.  If you have emergency travel, please contact us at[7] with your emergency request and include the expiration date of your current passport, ticket or travel itinerary, and purpose of travel.  Appointment availability is extremely limited and an expired or expiring passport alone does not qualify for an emergency appointment at this time.  Please note that U.S. passports may be renewed after the expiration date.

The safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad is our top priority. We are monitoring the pandemic situation closely and are following guidance from U.S. and Norwegian authorities to prioritize health and safety.  Please review the Embassy’s Covid-19 information page[8] for more information from U.S. and Norwegian authorities.
